Fairy Tale Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day is coming up and you may be wondering how to surprise your loved one with a special and romantic day. Cornwall has so many beautiful spots which would be perfect for a day you won’t forget.
Cornwall Live recently released a list of beautiful places to take your significant other this Valentine’s Day; here are our favourites:
St Nectan’s Glen
This tranquil and spiritual location has recently been named Britain’s third ‘happiest view’. Its magical waterfalls, peaceful walks through the woods and, it is said, healing waters will make a fantastic start to your day. There are many myths that fairies, piskies and spirits reside at St Nectan’s Glen so if you’re looking for a fairy tale Valentine’s, it is definitely the place for you.
St Michael’s Mount
Continuing the fairy tale theme, St Michael’s Mount is a well know and beloved area of Cornwall with lovely walks and historic architecture. If you are interested in medieval legends and stories, like the skeleton of a giant that was found in the church, this is the perfect day out for your Valentine’s Day.
Minack Theatre
Valentine’s day isn’t complete without a romantic evening, watching the sunset over the ocean with your partner. The Minack Theatre stages performances ranging from opera to plays to musicals and more. Its gorgeous setting and architecture make it a breath-taking location for the finale of your fairy tale day.
Helsbury Park
Of course, if you want to have a relaxed, stay at home Valentine’s Day, Helsbury offers beautiful walks just off your doorstep through our woods which are blooming with flowers and wildlife, a calming river and wonderful views. You also have access to a cosy fireplace where you can watch romantic movies and eat popcorn.
