Crocadon, St. Mellion – 2024 Michelin Star
We often write about food on this blog and it’s for good reason! Cornwall is renowned for its incredible pubs and restaurants and the Michelin Guide has recently honoured some of the best. One of the most recent restaurants to be awarded with this honour is Crocadon.
Crocadon, St. Mellion
Crocadon prides itself on its farm to table mentality. According to chef and owner Dan Cox, Crocadon is an organic farm and aims to “go beyond zero waste”. This ethos won the restaurant a Green Star, but their “high quality cooking” enabled their Michelin Star. Produce served in the restaurant is grown on the 120 acre farm where the restored-barn-turned-elite-restaurant is situated. The Michelin Guide describes the restaurant as “assured and original, with dishes delivering wonderfully pure flavours”.
Cotehele
St Mellion itself is a beautiful place, located near Cotehele, a National Trust estate which you can visit with your dog. Cotehele is a Tudor house with Medieval roots. It has wonderful gardens with incredible views and expansive grounds to explore. The National Trust always ensures that its locations are upheld to the best standard possible. As well as this, the house itself is cared for spectacularly and the gardens are immaculate. Dogs are welcome on the Cotehele estate, including the Barn Restaurant, Edgcumbe café, shop, plant centre and the Bull Pen Gallery. However, only assistance dogs are allowed in the house, garden and orchards.
