2024 Review Roundup
Our 20th Anniversary year has been full of memorable moments for us at Helsbury. We have visited some amazing pubs, festivals and other events in North Cornwall that have reignited our love for our area. From revisiting some of our favourite local treasures to finding new places we love, 2024 has been full of great food, music and beautiful Cornish views. We have also found even greater appreciation for our own woods, exploring with mushroom experts and learning more about the wonders on our doorstep. One of our top 2024 moments was being honoured with Gold in Best for Sustainability in the Sykes Gem Awards. It’s not just us who love Helsbury though, so we thought we would share some of our guests’ favourite Helsbury experiences.
“luxurious”…”The pool and gym facilities were perfect”
We were delighted with the whole experience. The house was luxurious, had everything you needed and provided lots more. Setting was amazing and loads of places to walk the dogs. The pool and gym facilities were perfect. Will definitely be back. Thank you
“Beautiful house”… “we will be talking about this holiday for a long time to come”
Beautiful house and absolutely the best dog friendly accommodation we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in a lot. If there is perfection in this world this is it. The owners have thought of everything in the house you are not wanting for anything. Beds are comfy the showers are great and the house is lovely and warm including use of the wood burner which is fantastic. The dogs loved the extensive grounds to walk in and so did we and the swimming pool was absolutely incredible. We really cannot put into words properly how fantastic Marhayes is and we will be talking about this holiday for a long time to come.

Wonderful to be at Helsbury again. Whole experience is unmatched …and our Airedales agree! We come every year and have been over the last 10 years . Marhayes layout works for us, great views . Grounds immaculate, as always. Sue and team do a brilliant job in turning the cottages around between lets. Not surprised availability is scarce.
“Lovely and stunning area”… “second to none for active dogs”
Lovely and stunning area with a magnificent views! The scenery and area are beautiful, and the cottage itself was spacious and comfortable. The swimming area on top really was the icing on the cake. The fact that dogs are accepted and catered for so well really makes this place fantastic in so many ways, the exercise space is relaxing and second to none for active dogs.
We’re delighted to have an overall feedback score of 4.9 and our wonderful housekeeping team fully deserve their full marks for cleanliness. They do a fantastic job (despite being left enough hair to knit their own dog on occasion). It isn’t easy being super dog friendly and maintaining top notch cleaning standards. Our lovely groundsman deserves a mention for all he does outside too. Walkies wouldn’t be the same without his hard work. Our two new four-seater sofas in Marhayes seem to have hit the spot with the ‘comfort’ rating and we have had full marks on that score since they were delivered.
So all in all 2024 has been a happy and successful year for Helsbury Park. Thank you to all who have visited and those who have taken the time to leave us feedback. And of course our wonderful team.
